As I am working on building my relationships in Georgia, I had the opportunity to work with a fun and energenic DJ. We were at a wedding where some of the adults weren't dancing, but that didn't stop him. He jumped up and continued to pump up the crowd. He got the bride and groom grooving and a moving at their wedding. It is moments like this on why it is so important to hire the right DJ. The DJ can make or break your wedding. I have witnessed many differnt ones over the years and all over the country, but I am happy to say I have met DJ Neezy in my new home town. In building relationships, I wanted to give you more on perceptive of a DJ and why it is important to pick the right one. Here is more about DJ Neezy, Ben Needles.

How long have you been in business?

  Almost 5 years
What do you love about your work?

I love that I get to help different groups of people make amazing memories. From Fun Runs to birthday parties, to bar mitzvahs and weddings, I get to be the person who sets the tone (and tempo) of the party.
What do you specialize in?

Connecting with the client. It is my job to get to know who they are and what type of memory they are looking to build. Once that relationship is built, I can custom create the party experience they are looking for!
What are your struggles?

Though not something that I typically have to deal too much with, the biggest struggle I encounter is trying to get clients to understand the value of a good entertainer. Anyone can press play, anyone can buy sound equipment. If you find someone who is "cheap," there is probably a reason. I like ot think that my prices are disproportionate in relation to what my clients get out of the event.
What is the best thing a client can do for the DJ?
I always send clients for weddings and big events a form to fill out that helps be build their custom expereince. On that form, clients are to provide the music (songs or genres) that they love and hate. Once I get that, I can truly understand their musical taste and what the event should sound like.
What is important about a DJ and photographer that work together?

The DJ controls the flow of the evening but the photography controls the memory. If the DJ and photographer are not on the same page, the client is left with memories in their head but nothing on "film." The DJ must partner with the photographer and let them know when the GREAT photos will be. Conversely, the photographer must let the DJ know what unique shots they will need help capturing.
What advise do you give to your clients?

Take time to get to know your service providers. If they are the type of person who makes you feel comfortable. If they are the type of person that you might want as a friend, they are probably the person you want providing a service. You need to trust that person. You need to feel comfortable telling them exactly what you do and don't want. Additionally, as mentioned before, don't undervalue the items that are most important. You need good pictures. You need a good DJ. If you are concerned about your budget, perhaps go with the "less spectacular" dessert or fewer votives on the table. No one goes around and takes an inventory of the tiny details though you'll likely obsess over them. The MUSIC and ENTERTAINMENT PROVIDER is the lifeblood of a party and if you don't invest in success, you may not like the return.
Does DJ Neezy do anything with a charity?

There are a few charitable organizations that I work with during the course of a year. I work with the MDE School (www.mdeschool.com) in Marietta, GA. They are a school specifically designed to help students with exceptionalities reach their maximum potential.
Additionally, I work with the Drake House in Roswell, GA. "The Drake House works to provide short-term crisis housing, education, and empowerment programs for homeless mothers and their children in North Fulton County designed to assist the family in working toward self-sufficieny." (www.thedrakehouse.org)
